Poses & Postures

MUSCULO-SKELETAL HEALTH FOR ALL
PART-III

1. Posture while lifting

Use the proper technique when moving boxes, to reduce the risk of injury and soreness.
Keep the load close to the waist.
Adopt a stable position.
Ensure a good hold on the load.
Don’t bend your back when lifting.
Don’t twist when you lift.
Good working height helps the operator to work with relaxed shoulder and back in upright position.

2. Correct way to carry bag pack

Bag pack maximum weight should not be more than 20% of the body weight.

Always wear both shoulder straps rather than slinging your backpack with one strap on one shoulder.

Adjust the shoulder straps so that backpack is high on your back and the shoulder straps are comfortable on your shoulders.

Your backpack should not sway from side to side as you walk.
